A few days ago I asked Christians to respond to the following comment re: my inaugural Huffington Post piece.Nice article however it is starting from a premise that has not one tiny bit of demonstrable evidence to prove its validity. Namely that there is a god and that anyone has any idea what this god wants. I am always amazed by the fact that if I ask a dozen different Christians what Christianity is I will get a dozen different opinions. And opinion is all they have. And herein lays the problem. Reality is not only

Philosopher Jerry. L. Walls, author of Hell: The Logic of Damnation and other books on the afterlife, weighs in on two views of grace that will affect your theology of hell. This is part of an extended interview I conducted with Jerry for Hellbound? This segment does not appear in the finished film. An excerpt from Jerry Walls' "Hellbound?" interview from Kevin Miller onRead More

The Belcourt Theater in Nashville has kindly set up an event page and another page where you can pre-order tickets for our Sept. 12 screening. It's a 330-seat theater, and I want to pack the house. In fact, I'd like to sell out this screening ahead of time so the Belcourt will hold us over for a second night. I'm going to be there along with other members of the Hellbound? team to introduce the film and do some Q&A afterwards. We are also planning to migrate to a nearby restaurant afterwards toRead More

This is a comment that came in last night on my Huffington Post piece. If you're a Christian, how would you respond to this?Nice article however it is starting from a premise that has not one tiny bit of demonstrable evidence to prove its validity. Namely that there is a god and that anyone has any idea what this god wants. I am always amazed by the fact that if I ask a dozen different Christians what Christianity is I will get a dozen different opinions. And opinion is all they have. And herein lays the problem. This morning, my wife forwarded me Richard Rohr's daily mediation called "Jesus and Buddha." I like it so much I decided to quote the entire piece here:The Christian tradition became so concerned with making Jesus into its God and making sure everybody believed that Jesus was God that it often ignored his very practical and clear teachings. (How many of us love our enemies?) Instead, we made the questions theological and metaphysical ones about the nature of God (which asked almost nothing of us!). Most of our church fights have been on that level, and no one ever

What a day it's been. First our new trailer goes up on iTunes, and now this--my first piece for the Huffington Post, which is a response to Jerry Newcombe's callous remarks in the wake of the Aurora theater shooting. I'll tease you with the opening paragraph:What a surprise: An evangelical leader takes advantage of a tragic situation to utter foolish and insensitive remarks designed not to comfort the afflicted but rather to remind us why he and his people are right, and the rest of the world is wrong. Not just wrong though. Dead
