Four of the Hellbound? "cast" will be there: Frank Schaeffer, Michael Hardin, Brad Jersak and Brian McLaren. Not to mention Raborn Johnson of Beyond the Box podcast. And none of them will be roped off in a VIP section with all the bigwigs. They'll be camping out just like everyone else. And I highly doubt any of them has ever said no to a free beer. (Well, perhaps Frank did in his former life...) So here's your chance to get chummy. As if that's not motivation enough, check outRead More

You know you're close to the finish line when you're working out the finer points of the film's score. That's one of the many things I'm doing right now in collaboration with composer Marcus Zuhr and my sound design team. Here's a brief teaser of a piece Marcus calls "Bob Larson's Demons." Bob Larson's Demons (1) -Read More

We had a bit of a crazy weekend due to a series of technical glitches, but we still managed to lock picture on Hellbound? pretty much on schedule. In case you don't know what "picture lock" means, theoretically, this is the point beyond which the edit cannot change. It's necessary to lock picture so our sound designer and composer can score directly to the picture. I say "theoretically," because there's nothing really stopping me from making changes after this point, but if I do, it's going to cause massive delays and lots of money. So from here on out,Read More

Dr. Morey’s closing words:Leave the Christian Church…. Stop cluttering up the pews. We who remain will be in revival the moment you hit the door because the greatest hindrance to revival and reformation are the dead beat unregenerate humanists who clutter up the churches – shouldn’t be here because you don’t submit to the Scriptures – you shouldn’t be here. You have your own religion. Good, go for it! Then you will know that you are in need of a Savior.

The Hellbound? Summer 2012 Tour tent, of course. That's my co-producer David Rempel and me in the picture, taken during a practice set-up and take-down in my back yard yesterday. Note how I'm holding onto the pole with an iron grip to prevent the entire thing from blowing away... A few days ago I announced a few confirmed dates. Here is a revised and updated list. More to come.- Spirit West Coast (Del Mar, CA) - May 25-27
- Atlanta Fest (Atlanta, GA) - June 14-16
- The Wild Goose Festival (Shakori Hills, NC) -

In a recent blog post, George Sarris provides us with an introduction to Jesus' use of the term Gehenna--a literal place outside of Jerusalem that has often been mistranslated as "hell." He touches briefly on Old Testament usage of the word, how people during the time of Jesus would have understood it, and even some extra-biblical mentions. Definitely worth theRead More
