In case you’ve never heard of it, the Wild Goose Festival is a three-day event in Shakori Hills, NC, which describes itself as:
a community creating a festival at the intersection of justice, spirituality and art. The first festival took place in June 2011; the next one is June 21-24 2012. We take inspiration from many places, such as Greenbelt, Burning Man, the Iona Community, SXSW, and others. The festival is open to everyone; we don’t censor what can be said; we invite respectful – but fearless – conversation and action for the common good.
I’m going to be there with author/speaker Brad Jersak, who is a good friend and one of the interview subjects for Hellbound? If you’re roaming the grounds, you’ll also run into other faces from the film, including Brian McLaren and Frank Schaeffer, and all sorts of other interesting characters. It’ll be my first time at the festival, so I’m really looking forward to it.
That same weekend, my co-producer David Rempel will be at the Icthus Music Festival in Wilmore, KY. So if you’re planning to be at either festival, don’t hesitate to introduce yourself. We’d love to meet you!
