It may take a village to raise a child, but it takes an army of volunteers to help make a movie like Hellbound? a success. As we prepare our theatrical release strategy for the film, we are looking for individuals and groups in various communities across North America (and beyond!) who are willing to become Hellbound? ambassadors ("Hell-raisers"?) in their community. In particular, we are looking for people who can recommend ideal neighborhoods and venues in which to release the film. We are also looking for partners who are willing to help promote the film to their friends,

Filmmaking is such a difficult process that I'm a big advocate of taking a moment to celebrate every milestone, no matter how fleeting that moment may be. So while I was quite busy yesterday dealing with bugs on the web site, firing out our press release and responding to queries (while simultaneously packing and traveling to the Okanagan with my family), I made sure to steal a bit of time to merely bask in the glow of accomplishment. We made something, and we shared it with the world. And a lot of people liked it. There's no better feeling than

In addition to authoring Her Gates Will Never Be Shut: Hope, Hell and the New Jerusalem (the book that ultimately inspired me to make Hellbound?), Brad has been a good friend of mine for well over a decade. He shot me an email this morning with two thoughts. I thought they would make for some interesting discussion:

If the reason you follow Jesus is to escape hell, you are not following Jesus.
If the reason you evangelize is to save others from hell, you are not

Have you written a book about hell? An article? A blog post? Made a video? Or can you recommend a resource we've missed? (We realize our list is far from comprehensive.) Please let us know and we'll see about adding it to our resource page.

What a response! Thanks everyone for comments and feedback this morning. One of the most asked for is the embed code for our teaser trailer. To find embed codes and other things link banners and logos, visit our new Spread the Word page:

You'll notice a link at the top right corner of our web site encouraging you to "Demand the Movie." Over the next several weeks, we will be mapping out our theatrical release strategy for this fall. In the meantime, it would be great to get some input from you to help us discover some key hot spots across North America. So don't act like a polite Canadian. DEMAND that we come to your town. This is your chance to have a real effect on where and how the film is

As of this moment, I am uploading the final section of my initial assembly of Hellbound? for my editor, Simon Tondeur, to refine and polish. We're still a ways from the finish line, but this is a major milestone that must be acknowledged and celebrated. In terms of an analogy, this is the equivalent of a novelist completing his or her first draft. I also like to equate it to a road tunneling crew finally making it through to the other side of the mountain. It'll still be a while before cars are driving through the hole they've

I recently came across this chart in Tim Challies' Twitter feed:   While I certainly respect the educational impulse behind such a thing, it seems to me that if your image of God looks like this... Rather than like this... You run the risk of basing your religion on a theological abstraction rather than the person of Jesus

How, then, shall I respond to him who asks, "What was God doing before he made heaven and earth?" I do not answer, as a certain one is reported to have done facetiously (shrugging off the force of the question). "He was preparing hell," he said, "for those who pry too deep." It is one thing to see the answer; it is another to laugh at the questioner--and for myself I do not answer these things thus. More willingly would I have answered, "I do not know what I do not know," than cause one who asked a deep
