For no one is cast off by the Lord forever. Though he brings grief, he will show compassion, so great is his unfailing love. For he does not willingly bring affliction or grief to anyone. — Lamentations 3:31-33
I’m reminded of the 1st three verses of Hosea 6 (which is also a lovely song by a Mr. Prosch):
“Come, let us return to the Lord. He has torn us to pieces but he will heal us; he has injured us but he will bind up our wounds. After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will restore us, that we may live in his presence. Let us acknowledge the Lord; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.”
As well as the “a smouldering wick he won’t extinguish/bruised reed he will not break” verses in Isaiah/Matthew and the part where Jesus tells a woman, “I don’t condemn you either.”
The above verse is new to me and I like it.
